Nuevo Terra is a jewel of the empire, being Earthlike to a great degree.
No special precautions are needed to survive on its surface in reguards
to air, water or edible plant life.
However, the native animal life of Nuevo Terra is both large, energetic, and agresive twords homo sapiens. From all apperances, in fact, the carniverous and omniverous life forms of Nuevo Terra in fact consider H. Sapiens a rather delicious treat, and will seek them out if possible!
Because of this, human presence on Nuevo Terra is confined mostly to Arcologies in easily defensable areas. However, there are several small enclaves of communal families scatterd across the planet in mini arcologies. These mini arcologies house 5-10 familes of farmers and are often surrounded by hectares of cultivated land. Although small, their walls and defensive weapons are enough to discourage the local wildlife from consuming the residents. In addition, each facility has its own provision for proccessing and transporting its food products to market, and are otherwise 99% self sufficient.
The seat of government is located in the Arcology of Washington. This was the first arcology founded on the planet, as well as the location of the main spaceport. The arcology is located within an extinct volcano in the center of a large archepelego that connects the continents of Lincon in the northwestern hemisphere and Rosevelt in the southwestern. In addition, the volcano is surrounded by a reef that keeps large and agressive native lifeforms out. This makes the arcology itself a mecca for tourism, with a temperature range of 20 - 30 degrees celcius year round and little fear of dangerous life forms. On the other end of this spectrum is the arcology of McArthur, in the resource rich far north of the Lincon continent. This arcology is primarily a manufacturing center, where goods are produced for the rest of the planet. The outside temperature hovers between 10 and -10 celcius, and the area outside the arcology proper is the natural hunting grounds of hexpumas, a six legged carnivore with a particular love of human flesh that stands some 3 meters high at the shoulder!
